Blackbird is a local username and email searcher. The repo is p1ngul1n0/blackbird. You point it at a handle or an address, it checks 600+ sites, and it can write the matches to PDF or CSV. That export is the reason it exists next to Sherlock. Sherlock prints where a username exists. Blackbird is built to leave you with a file you can drop in a case folder.

What you are trading

You get the usual open-source bargain: no per-search fee, full control of the machine, and a site list you can read. You also get the usual bill. Python or a container. Modules that go stale. A long wait on a wide scan.

I would rather pay Fingerprint.to for the live sweep if the handle can leave my network. I run Blackbird when it cannot, or when I want a PDF that did not come from a vendor.

Email search is available, but this is still a presence checker, not an identity report. A green row means “this site answered as if the account exists.” It does not mean you found the person.

Setup

Follow the current README. Older writeups disagree about install methods. If a scan finishes in two seconds, your site list is probably empty or your network is blocked. If it finishes in twenty minutes, that is normal.
